The 5 Stages of Playing Fetch - Presented by Redmond

*This is a guest post by Redmond, an informational guide to playing fetch.

Stage 1 - Getting Outside

When you hear the word "ball", perk up your ears and get ready.

Wait by the back door so your owner knows you're ready to play.

Stage 2 - Getting Ready

Go find your ball and bring it to your owner.

Once they have it, get ready. Stay light on your paws, keep your eyes on the ball and get ready to run.

Stages 3 & 4 - Retrieve and Return

This is it, time to play! Once the ball is thrown, run as hard as you can to get it, then bring it back.

Repeat stages 3-4 until exhausted.

Stage 5 - Recover

You did it. You worked hard, ran as much as you could, it's time to rest.

"These pretzels are making me thirsty!!"

"He is a loathsome offensive brute, yet I can't look away",

Two posts in one day - sorry guys, but this video was too funny not to share! Redmond taking on the Kramer poster. Apparently he isn't a Seinfeld fan.

*For any non-Seinfeld fans out there, please ignore my cheesy Seinfeld quotes*

Icing on the cake! When I loaded the video to make sure it worked, Redmond heard himself barking and started looking all over the house for this new noisy interloper! What a ham!

Settling in

How handsome is this fellow!?

Redmond (aka Red) is an energetic pup who LOVES to play fetch, go on walks, play in the sprinkler, play with his toys, and has a love affair with food.

This spunky boy is fiercely curious, which has been both good and bad - the bad being that foster mom is having to teach us the counter is not a great place to look for food, and the unripe tomatoes in the garden don't make for good eats either.

But what minor hiccups! This sweet fellow is crate trained, house trained, knows "sit" and "stay", and seems to get along well with other dogs, and is learning to play with his foster brother, Scout.

Since Redmond has just recently joined our family we are still getting to know him better. From what we can tell, he is fairly independent. He likes to know where you are at and sit at your feet, but doesn't require constant attention.

Redmond is being fostered through the Heart of Texas Lab Rescue To learn more about Redmond, please fill out an online adoption application, and keep checking his blog for more updates!
